*** For something really different, why not learn scuba diving with the kids? ***

Check out our pre-tour package which will allow the whole family to become PADI Certified Open Water divers! Course runs January 16th to 18th (3 days) and can include accommodation if needed. Having this certification will allow you to experience several fantastic dives on the following tour:

A day of discovery lies ahead, as we depart early from the Gold Coast and travel north to board the morning ferry to our first tour destination. Moreton Island National Park offers an endless coastline of white sandy beaches, lakes, high sand dunes, scenic walking trails, and an abundance of wildlife for you to spot.

Explore the Tangalooma shipwrecks with a professionally guided scuba dive (optional and not included), where you’ll have the opportunity to come up close and personal with over 200 species of fish, 130 species of coral, 3 different species of marine sea turtle, dolphins, stingrays and wobbegong sharks.

There are not many places in the world where you can experience an encounter with dolphins in the wild, but here you will hand-feed them. Also enjoy the thrill of an ATV quad bike tour (optional and not included) along the beach and bushland on some of the best ATV quad bike tracks in Australia.

Full-day use of VIP lounge access has been arranged, so you can freshen up with a hot shower prior to enjoying a lovely Welcome Dinner with the group on the island. We’ll head back to the mainland in the evening.

We’ll depart Brisbane this-morning to head to our next destination - Bundaberg. Spend the afternoon at the beach in the coastal town of Bargara, or laze by the pool at our hotel. You may also want to discover what this region is most renowned for - its rum! Parents and kids can visit the Bundaberg Distillery and take a tour (not included) to learn how their award-winning rum is produced.

We’ll meet up with the group in the evening to enjoy a relaxing BBQ dinner back at our hotel.

After dinner, we will travel a short distance to Mon Repos, where you will experience a rare turtle encounter. Take an unrivalled peak behind the curtain of a natural wonder thousands of years in the making, at Mon Repos Conservation Park. This is an amazing experience where you may witness the first moments of the life of a member of an endangered species, or see adult turtles digging their nests and laying their eggs (depending on the season).

Board a high-speed catamaran this morning as we travel out to Lady Musgrave Island. Non-divers can take a guided island walk, take a ride on a glass bottom boat, and have an amazing snorkelling session with tropical fish and divers.

Certified divers will be able to visit Queensland’s newest wreck, the ex‑HMAS Tobruk (additional cost). This unique dive location has so much to experience, including the thriving underwater ecosystem already developing on this former Australian Navy ship. The marine life that frequents these waters includes dolphins, whales, potato cod, giant clams, turtles, lionfish, manta rays and huge Queensland grouper, which are now calling the ex‑HMAS Tobruk home.

We'll be on the road early this morning. Today’s journey takes you to one of the secret jewels of the Great Barrier Reef, Heron Island.

Nature is awaiting your arrival! Take time to unwind, settle into your accommodation, disconnect from daily life, and watch the live wildlife documentary showing at your doorstep. Heron Island is an unexpected treasure, framed by white sands, crystal clear waters and acres of coral with colourful marine life. It’s a National Park within a Marine National Park, and a world‑famous haven for divers. In fact, Jacque Cousteau, the most famous undersea explorer of our time, listed it as one of his best top ten dive sites worldwide!

This afternoon is at your leisure to snorkel, laze on the beach, take a guided walk to spot the protected flora and fauna on the island, or simply just relax and take it all in.

Meals:        Breakfast

Overnight:  Hotel

Start your day with a dive off Heron Island (optional and not included), named as one of the ten best dives on the planet. There are 20 individual dive sites within 15 minutes of the eco award‑winning Heron Island, and no matter which site you dive, they are all spectacular.

These waters are filled with eagle rays, manta rays, white-tipped reef sharks, grey sharks, sea turtles, nudibranchs, barracuda, cod, and a whole other host of sea life. With over 1500 tropical fish species, this dive site is something that can only be experienced first‑hand and will have you believing in miracles.

Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure or, as there is so much to see, feel free to head back out for additional dives (contact us for pricing and more information). Nature walks and presentations on the island occur regularly and are included in your stay. You may also wish to grab a kayak or stand-up paddle board (additional cost) while the kids participate in the Junior Rangers Program (additional cost).
